masque

français vers anglais Technique / Génie Métallurgie / moulage
This is in a document on heat exchangers, it details the different parts and the vacuum brazing process

Any ideas?

Discussion

chris collister Sep 24, 2018:
"Mask" sounds reasonable enough. Such a mask might be paper or plastic stuck onto the workpiece, but they clearly don't want to use one, probably because of contaminant fragments of non-metallic material. In reality, laser or water-jet cutters are numerically controlled, so no mask would be necessary in any case. In this context, I am assuming that the "traçage" refers to the path taken by the cutter.

mask

I think this refers to drawing a mask in a CAD tool, although it's not very clear.

agree B D Finch : Though I think it means that a mask shouldn't be used when cutting out. i.e. actual, physical cutting, not a CAD tool.
