French term
Attestation d'assurance
French to English
Bus/Financial
Insurance
I have a table to translate that contains a column with a list of documents.
The problem is that I have two different entries:
Attestation d'assurance NNN
Certificat d'assurance NNN
The text makes a distinction between the two, but as far as I'm concerned they both mean the same thing. Any one have any ideas how to translate this?
Maybe, affidavit for the first?
Thanks!

Proof of Insurance
A proof of insurance is literally proof that one is insured.

Insurance Certificate NNN
You are right to say that both "Attestation d'assurance NNN" and "Certificat d'assurance NNN" mean the same thing, that is "Insurance certificate NNN" since Google says the same thing.

carte verte / green card
The certificat is the sticker (vignette). The attestation is the green card (carte verte).
It's a French-French institutional thing. Like 'plaque minéralogique'. Substitute the cultural equivalents of your choice, or go with 'insurance sticker' and 'insurance certificate'.

Discussion
I'm now wondering what two documents one would need from an insurance. Maybe, knowing that, it would help. And no, it doesn't specify what kind, just the insurance company name. But it is a table showing documents needed for employees who work abroad.
