French term

filière

French to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
This term crops up repeatedly in a short text describing the "after-sales" department of a bank. The department focuses on production optimization.

Some examples:

I was going for something general like "areas of production" - is this correct, or does it have a more specific translation in this context? Am I even right to be talking about "production"?

Thanks in advance

Chris

As an afterthought, use 'competency centres' as a catch-all term.

So, how are you translating 'métier' here? The 'filière' is one of the components thereof.

Thanks Polyglot - I have already looked through, and couldn't find anything relating to this field. Were there any specific entries you could point me to?
