English term

a/the additional insurance premium

English Bus/Financial Insurance
Shall I use a or the in this case? Or maybe zero article? And in general - does the sentence below looks natural to you, dear native English speakers? ;) Thank you all in advance!

===

The additional insurance premium shall be paid as a lump sum by transfer of funds to the settlement account of the Insurer before March 31, 2017.

"The insurer's settlement account" would be better.

Because you seem to be talking about some specific case and some specific 'additional premium'

HOWEVER, without knowing what has gone before, it is just conceivable it might need to be 'an' — if for example it was talking about some hypothetical situation: "In the event of an extension of cover to a second vehicle, and additional premium will be payable..." — but on the face of it, that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Definitely need an article of some kind!

As for the rest, it makes sense in EN, but only knowledge of the original would enable us to tell if it is expressing it accurately.

Yup, spot on! Moving from the general to the specific case... which is why they are called 'indefinite' and 'definite' article respectively, of course!
Note from asker:
Under this Supplementary Agreement, the Insured shall pay an additional insurance premium in the amount of: XYZ USD. The additional insurance premium shall be paid as a lump sum by transfer of funds to the settlement account of the Insurer before March 31, 2017. === So, "an" in the first sentence and "the" in the second sentence - correct?
Thank you very much!

agree Martin Riordan : I agree that, without additional context, it is impossible to know if "an" might not be more appropriate.
