Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Yvonne Gallagher

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

here "lifted" has the meaning that you would expect - same meaning as in "you lifted this paragraph from someone else's work" i.e.

the information that was in the section "technical preview" (while the version "HDP 3.1" was still being tested) is now in the section offering full support for operational software.

That information/section has been moved/transferred NOT thrown in the rubbish bin.

Overview

Informatica big data products version 10.2.2 HotFix 1 Service Pack 1 support Hortonworks HDP 3.1 Hadoop distribution. HDP 3.1 contains changes that you should be aware of when you upgrade. This document contains information about changes in Hortonworks 3.1 to help you make decisions about upgrading to the release.

Effective in version 10.2.2 HotFix 1 Service Pack 1, HDP 3.1 is lifted from technical preview and is fully supported. If you are using an older Informatica version, upgrade to version 10.2.2 HotFix 1 and apply HotFix 1 Service Pack 1.

What Has Changed in Hortonworks HDP 3.1?

Important updates have been made from HDP 2.x to HDP 3.x, including changes in operating system support, HDFS replication options, Hive tables, and the Spark engine.

Thanks / dzięki!
agree jccantrell : My first thought. But, why not just 'copied?'

once the software / the new version is "fully operational" there is no reason to keep the info in the section about "coming versions currently being tested". Thanks!
agree Tina Vonhof (X) : It's like 'cut and paste'.

Removed

Effective in version 10.2.2 , Apache Hadoop 3.1 is removed from technical preview.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Daryo : ONE possible meaning, but CL4 without even a first clue about the context? - sounds overoptimistic to me ... // and it's in fact misleading "removed" would imply "junked / thrown away" - not exactly what's happened!

agree philgoddard : Daryo has very kindly provided additional context showing that your answer is correct. And "removed" doesn't necessarily mean "junked"
1 hr
neutral Tony M : As Daryo points out, this would be undesirably ambiguous here, and there are many unambiguous alternatives available.
