English term

trail

English Tech/Engineering Computers: Software
The name of the material trails the signs (*), and the attribute Favorite Device at the mounting position is filled with the designation of the favorite device.

I would like to know the meaning of 'trail' here...
Thanks

I'm not an IT expert, but that would be the standard reading.

In answer to your question: In order to say "ends with", you would have to rewrite the sentence to make the position of the name of the material (after the "signs*") clear to the reader. It would seem best to be to stick with the order in which names, numbers, signs, etc. must appear.
Have a good weekend.

The name of the material follows (comes aftert) the signs; it seems te be related with filling forms by a program or a human
