English term
Bus or buss
English to Spanish
Tech/Engineering
Safety
Electricity
This appears along the manual sometimes as bus and others as buss. Not sure if it always refers to the same thing. The word buss sometimes appears as “conductor or buss”, but in other cases it speaks of a section of a buss being installed or removed, like this: If a section of buss or switch/disconnect is opened and work is to be performed on both sections of the open point, both sides shall be grounded.
But somewhere else I find bus, no double ss, in the following phrase:
Consider substation bus and equipment as energized until they have been isolated.
While researching, I ran into a forum where they even play around with the word buss meaning a kiss, and there are all sorts of jokes such as “don´t buss a bus”. I had fun, but now I really need to know what the difference is, if there even is one, and I´m at a real loss. Suggestions please? Many thanks to everyone out there working on a Sunday.

Both spellings are admitted, but obviously you should stick to one throughout a text....
