Comment: "I loved all of the feedback I got on this question. It was a delight trying to figure out the nuances of the English language and to capture it "just so" in Spanish. I decided to use "en vez de devanarme los sesos...". "Spin one's wheels" in this case did not have the connotation of "fruitless endeavor" but "devanarse los sesos" beautifully matched the style of the rest of the article. Hola John. No te equivocas; simplemente se me ocurrió que puede aplicarse al esfuerzo que pone el autor por encontrar un nuevo proyecto. Igualmente me gusta más "devanarme los sesos". Saludos/Regards!
