Nursing thesis: Thesis process example
Formulating the Thesis topic
• The topic can arise from working life, pre-existing project, or personal issue of interest for the student.
• Student discusses the topic with tutor, focuses the topic and prepares a topic proposal
Thesis agreement (if needed)
• An agreement between student, supervisor and the representative of the work-life partner/assignor.
• States the aims, objectives, research problem and schedule.
Thesis plan
• Student composes a plan for the thesis describing the background of the thesis, research problem or developmental work, aims, methods and schedule.
• Student famialiarises him-/herself with assessment criteria, good scientific practice and ethical conduct.
• The student may need to attend to a thesis seminar and present the plan to student colleagues.
Working on thesis: Implementation and reporting
• During the thesis work, the student should keep supervisor and assignor updated on the process.
