One by one, open each tissue product jar to be tested for B&F Testing, decant storage solution into a 0.22 micron sterile filter. Refill the jar with neutralization solution, replace jar lid, tighten and set the jar/valve aside. Make sure to remove any air bubbles that may be trapped under the valve (this may be done by tipping the jar slightly) prior to tightening lid.
*Vacuum filter* the storage solution, then fill the filter funnel with 100 ml of saline and immediately vacuum filter.
Fill the filter funnel with a second 100 ml of saline, inoculate with no greater than 100 cfu of one of the organisms specified in Table #1, Organisms and Incubation Requirements (each organism is to be tested once). Allow a minimum of 15 seconds prior to vacuum filtering the inoculated saline.
