Optimum has an underlying sense of being the most favourable or suitable factor,for example, we say, "optimum temperature".In sense, optimum also comes close to "suitable" and hence the choice "upayukt"

Just wanted to verify the prior answer that was given to you. Another possibility is Ishtatam, but anukooltam is better, and more widely understood.

Normally optimum means sarvottam as an adjective. The noun will be anukooltam vatavaraN.
