Il s'agit d'un fendeur de bûches (a 4-way log splitter).

Je n'ai pas beaucoup de contexte. Est-ce que gate est une "grille" dans ce texte?

Merci beaucoup d'avance.

Pictures of a log spliiter (but not yours!) Found here, the 4-way designe is clearly illustrated, but I see nothing looking like a gate or gate hinge

Probably not "Gond" The gate hinge of the illustration is a "gond" for what is rather a "portail" than a "grille" in French (although the term is rather commonly used in farms for large doors), I do not believe it has anything to do with your log splitter

Pas d'illustration? Un "4-way splitter" utilise généralement un coin en étoile à 4 branches ou une "grenade" plutôt que le couteau droit des fendeurs en deux morceaux.
Le document complet doit comporter des illustrations, sinon je doute que le lecteur comprenne de quoi il s'agit
