Danish term

fredningsværdierne

Danish to English Tech/Engineering Law: Contract(s) Listed buildings etc.
I'm trying to think of a better term than 'protected features' which is the best I've come up with so far.

Der er holdt adskillige møder både på stedet og i styrelsen for at afklare selve projektet og ansøgningsmaterialets karakter og de krav, som en hensyntagen til fredningsværdierne stiller i forhold til de funktionsønsker, ansøgerne har og de krav, som bygningsreglementet stiller til den nye anvendelse.

Any help appreciated.

Discussion

Diarmuid Kennan May 20, 2009:
To me the term seems a little ambiguous: it could have 3 possible meanings. 'Værdi' could refer to a) the values/principles/guidelines etc. for preservation b) the relative 'merits' of the asset in question with respect to preservation/conservation, or c) the actual 'assets' (buildings) in question

preservation values, building preservation values

fredning = preservation
fredningsdeklaration = building preservation notice (Gyldendals dansk-engelske juridiske ordbog)
Example sentence:

Historic Preservation and Housing - Historic preservation values should not be limited to certified historic structures or communities. http://www.preservationnation.org/issues/housing/

17 private residential and commercial buildings in Bochum as a "building preservation values" excellent.
