From a description of the teacher training process in Denmark: "Læreruddannelsen var fra 1930 fireårig, og den skulle forene faglige kundskaber, personlig udvikling og indsigt i praktisk undervisning i folkeskolen, med hovedfag i praktisk skolegerning, pædagogik og psykologi." I can find no definitive translation for the subject area known as "praktisk skolegerning." One unreliable source suggests "practical school work," but that doesn't seem to convey much meaning. Even an explanation of what this subject entailed would be most helpful!
