mashak you may very well be correct, I was thinking in terms of frames, either frames of doors or paintings or structures of chairs and wooden chests, where apparently this is being used....and again, there is very little context.....

Have you got a picture of it? hlavice is 'capital', but I can't think what sort - I know somebody who might, though ...

nail-head

currently with two possibilities:

1)These nail-heads are in this case distinctly for use, since they are but the tops of wooden pegs which answer the purpose of locking the drawers by turning a bolt. Few are so useful as these, however.
