maybe you could just say "According to type and category" ???
I hardly think the term "morphological" would work in English.
I feel the most important thing is that storage is not according to manufactured but according to generic type

As has already been said above, 'famille morphologique' basically means a family of things which have the same basic 'root', although they may vary in shape and structure. So, the 'root' might be 'hat', and the items would all be different types of hats - deerstalkers, bowlers, etc, but all belonging to the same family. A very fancy way of saying something quite basic: 'category' or 'family'.
