English term
Andrea - can it be man's name?
Non-PRO
English to Italian
Other
Names (personal, company)
I am actually translating English into Ukrainian...
But I ended up in a situation where I need the help of someone from Italy quite urgently.
I am translating a text which mentions a certain person, Andrea XXXXXXXX, from Italy, and speaks of this person as of a man, like "he says", etc. However, I have already discovered that the same approach is applied to another person from Lithuania, who certainly is a woman. So I am now also in doubt about Andrea - perhaps the source text has an error here too?
From what I can guess and make out from the Internet, Andrea is normally a female name in Italian. What I need to ascertain as soon as possible, is whether there is _any_ chance that this Andrea from Italy could be a man, or the source has an error here.
Thank you in advance for your kind help.

yes, usually a man's name
Andrea is usually a man's name (my native language is Italian and I live in Italy), sometimes used for women, but very rarely!
Hope this helps!
