From the context, it seems clear to me that the charg is hierarchically inferior to the administrator

production coordinator

In France the "Chargé de Prod" is usually responsible for the material aspects of an actual production (theater, concert, film, etc) The Production administrator pays the bills, signs the contracts, finds the venues, etc.

Here\'s the official job category description from INSEE

Thanks!
agree Tony M : I would prefer this for specifically theatrical use; maybe also 'production manager'

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks to all others, esp. to Dusty. Designer and stage manager are way off. Head of Prod can't work in this context."

agree writeaway : if it's a stage play and not film and if it's the hands-on man/woman running the show night, after night, after night.

neutral Martha Melter : In France, even in the theatre, the Chargé de Prod is much more than the stage manager
8 hrs
neutral Tony M : It's much more than 'just' this, as MM says; and there's a specific term for S/m anyway...

French term (edited): Charg de Production

See explanation below...

Just to clarify the point I was trying to make in my comment on writeaway's answer.
In the film and TV world, the term 'Head of Production' (and related alternative versions of the term) is somebody who has overall resposnibility for ALL of what that organisation produces - policy, etc.
Whereas this rôle is less common in 'ordinary' theatres --- nowadays, fewer and fewer theatres actually 'produce' shows (i.e. create them from scratch), but rather put on 'ready-made' shows that are offered to them by outside producers. Hence the term 'Head of Production' in the kind of sense used in Flim and TV will only really have sense in a 'Producing' theatre.
HOWEVER, even in much smaller touring theatres, there will be a person responsible for running ONE production, commonly called a 'production manager' (NOT the same as this rôle in film and TV!) Given the whole of the Asker's context, this seems to me the most likely bet in this particular case...
