"A noninferiority claim could be made if the two-sided alpha-adjusted CI upper bound for the hazard ratio for overall survival, durvalumab versus sorafenib, was less than 1.08."
"A two-sided, alpha level adjusted confidence interval (CI) will be constructed around the estimate."
"Therefore, results of the primary and secondary endpoints presented in this review are based on two-sided alpha-adjusted 98.02% confidence intervals (CIs). "
" Non-inferiority for the comparison of Arm A vs Arm D will be declared if the upper limit of the two-sided alpha adjusted CI for HR is less than the NI margin of 1.08. "
"two-sided alpha-adjusted 95.88% CI"
"The goal of this meta-analysis will be to rule out a hazard ratio of 1.8 (an 80% increase in the risk of MACE plus relative to a non-ertugliflozin comparator group) by showing that the upper bound of the two-sided alpha-adjusted confidence interval for the hazard ratio is

*Παρεμπιπτόντως, στο παράδειγμα "What does this confidence interval tell us about the outcome of a 2-sided alpha = 0.05 test based on the null hypothesis of H0:μ=57?", το 2-sided προσδιορίζει το test, όπως και όλο το alpha = 0.05 (η αγγλική είναι πολύ πιο ευέλικτη ως την επιθετικοποίηση ονομάτων, φράσεων κ.λπ.).
