Spanish term
cuya información confidencial se trata
Spanish to English
Law/Patents
Law: Contract(s)
Representation Contract
Representation Contract (Colombia)
I know that "se trata" means to be about but in this context does "tratar" mean to process?
Therefore, is it "whose information it concerns" or "whose information is being processed"?
Many thanks in advance.
"CONFIDENCIALIDAD
La parte receptora correspondiente sólo podrá revelar información confidencial a quienes la necesiten y estén autorizados previamente por la parte de cuya información confidencial se trata."

Spanish term (edited):
la parte cuya información confidencial se trata
the subject of the data
I don't believe it means "is processing", but it doesn't really affect the translation anyway.
You could translate "la parte de cuya información confidencial se trata" simply as "the subject of the data". I wouldn't repeat "confidential" the way the Spanish does.

: Yep, or Ruth's own idea of "whose info it concerns" ( but not the 'processing' one here_)

whose information is concerned
I wouldn't say "being processed" as this may not yet be the case

Spanish term (edited):
de cuya información confidencial se trata
whose confidential information is the one involved
The question has arguably been wrongly formulated or parsed. It's prefixed with 'de' - like 'il s'agit de' and the previous answers crucially omit the element of 'confidential'.
Example sentence:
Confidential information is information disclosed by one party to another in any way that is designated as confidential.
