Lisa Rosengard Aug 30, 2023:
It's a complicated issue about kidneys and renal medicine. I searched to find a PDF file with in-depth information as well as a medical reference. I think the poly-nuclear elements are a type of cell division (biological cells have a nucleus and a membrane). I think there's a spelling error in the question which should be 'varios polinucleares en mesangio' ( https://www.cun.es/diccionario-medico/terminos/mesangio). If I understand correctly, the mesangial cell has power to cause a cell division which interrupts a cell membrane in its capacity to purify material (liquid matter) or separate impurities in a basal glomerular membrane breakdown. Polynuclear compounds are a metal cluster containing at least one metal - metal bond. The reference is about environmental or organic chemistry and chemical reactions among various compounds. https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/materials-science/polyn...

Note I'm wondering if "polinucleares" corresponds to "polynuclei" or to "polynuclear compounds" in this context. Thank you.

agree liz askew : it does say "varios", so not cells?

Varios=several here: "several polynuclear cells" (are observed). As for the genre, "polinucleares" is used as masculine (as a noun) although it will change to feminine if you use it as adjective: "las células polinucleares".
