English term

at the same time a part of

English Social Sciences General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters intraconnection and integration
Dear colleagues,
I have a little doubt about the syntax, and hence the semantics, of “at the same time a part” in the following sentence:
“We are also the emergence of energy as it flows from possibility to actuality, manifesting in this bodily lifetime with our personal identity, and *** at the same time a part of *** the intraconnected whole of not only all of life, but all of reality” taken from the passage below about integration and intraconnection.
I guess the author means: “We are also the emergence of energy as it flows from possibility to actuality (...) and at the same time we are a part of the intraconnected whole” Or does “a part” refer to “our personal identity”?
Thank you so much for your help and patience!

The susceptibility of the human brain to mistaking the body – a part of the whole – as the sole center of self is not only an old proclivity of our human lives, it is a dangerous mistaken identity if we lose the larger systems view of our wholeness. Yes, our self, identity, and belonging are shaped by the inner bodily experience of this manifestation into actuality, this flow of energy that gets about one hundred years to live on Earth. We are descendants and ancestors of a long line of animals, a family member of all living beings; we are fundamentally interwoven with all life: here, now, there, and then. *** We are also the emergence of energy as it flows from possibility to actuality, manifesting in this bodily lifetime with our personal identity, and at the same time a part of the intraconnected whole of not only all of life, but all of reality. ***

As others have said, your first idea is correct

We are also the emergence of energy as it flows from possibility to actuality, (manifesting in this bodily lifetime with our personal identity),

and
concurrently (we) are part of the intraconnected whole (of not only all of life, but all of reality)”

you could also use "simultaneously" for "at the same time" though "concurrently" is better in this register

neutral philgoddard : You can't define 'at the same time' as 'at the same time'.
