INTRODUCTION
Welcome to New York City! Our goal is to help you get reconnected to loved ones who are already in the United States waiting for you. While that happens, you will be assigned a specific Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Center (HERRC) facility based on your self-identified demographics and family composition.

Transportation
Do you need a metrocard for an appointment? Stop at the metrocard distribution table at your HERRC location and request a metrocard for public transportation. If available, they are able to provide ONE card per guest per day which will allow you to get to your destination and back to the hotel.

Laundry
Laundry services are provided at each HERRC. Schedules vary by location and floor; schedules are posted in the halls of each HERRC location. If you need additional assistance, a staff member can help you identify the appropriate schedule for you after intake and bed assignment.

Extracurricular activities, such as the Girl Scouts of America, are available for guests, particularly aimed at families with minor children. Availability varies by HERRC location and population. Please ask a staff member what extracurriculars are available at your location.

RECOURSE
Guests are expected to follow all rules outlined by HERRC staff. Violation of any HERRC policies and procedures will be handled through our violation of terms policy. A copy of this process will be given to you upon intake. Repeated violation of terms may result in the expulsion of a guest from the HERRC system. HERRC staff reserves the right to expedite the violation of terms policy when warranted by severity of a policy violation.
