In a search I found numerous examples of "fiery collaborators" but I confess I have not seen this term in English before and am not really sure what it means and in what context it is used.

: yes, but "being on the ball" wouldn't work - it simply means "alert/paying attention", not necessarily beingh "enthusiastic" - it would more apply to people just going through a routine.

Amazing collaborators
When "de feu" is used in Québec it usually means enthusiastic/ impassioned or red-hot (any of which could be used rather than "fiery", which looks like translationese to me), but in this context it basically means that the collaboration was wonderful and gave rise to great results

So in that register, you've got everything from words like cool/sick/whatever the kids are saying these days (cool is always a safe bet) to the more formal wonderful, brilliant and suchlike.
Your overall context should give you pointers on what exact register should be used – maybe accountants don't want to be called "the bomb" and web designers don't want to be called "marvellous"!

@Kevin : non je ne pense pas, il y aurait un ou des noms après feu et ça ne semble pas être le cas.

I think the word "feu" is often used in French to refer to something that no longer exists, or someone who left a company or has passed away.
As in "la mémoire de feu"
