When joining the Barrel and Receiver Assemblies, the CTG Stop Actuator may need to be pressed down for clearance under the Mag Stop Actuator. This process is illustrated in Figure E-3.

1: Shell goes in properly, seats properly, and will eject if the "catch lever" (properly, "331 - CTG Catch Outer") is manually pulled down. Or, "normal, expected behavior". This almost *never* happens. I'm not one to exaggerate often (save for when being ostentatiously grandiose) so when I say "almost never" I really mean that.

What does CTG mean on a gun?
cartridge
A: "CTG" as it appears on the roll mark of a Smith and Wesson revolver is simply an abbreviation for the word "cartridge". It is NOT a designation of the model of the firearm, when you see ". 38 S&W Special CTG" on the side of the gun it just means it's chambered in . 38 special.
