“Das Vermögen, aus welchem die Einkünfte fließen und worüber Rechnung geführt werden soll, heißt das Grundstocksvermögen, welches in einem Gefällbuch ausführlich in systematischer Odnung beschrieben wird. Jedes Gefällbuch muß daher eine genaue Darstellung des Grundstocksvermögens, der hieran im Laufe des Jahrs erfolgten Veränderungen, Ab- und Zugänge, dann des Bestandes durch alle Theile des mittelbaren und unmittelbaren Staatsvermögens, woraus ständige und regelmäßige Ausgaben zu leisten sind, enthalten. Es soll das Gefällbuch die Grundlage der Einkünfte seyn, welche durch dasselbe genau beschrieben und evident gehalten werden. Das Gefällbuch gründet sich zunächst auf Güterbeschreibungen, Zins-, Lehen- und Zehntberaine, Grundbücher, Verträge und andere Urkunden. Uebrigens kann eine genau geführte Dienstrechnung, in welcher die Vermögensobjekte gehörig beschrieben sind, die Stelle des Gefällbuchs vertreten und letzteres selbst entbehrlich machen.”

Merci, danke and thanks ! The question did ring ancient English (and Irish) land law 'bells'. Rather than fairy tales, I am more inclined to believe in the substance of our local Bäckerei Grimm in Vienna.....

under GEFÄLLE, point 3, has: "fälliger Zins u. ähnl., Einkommen.... Schätzungen und Gefälle, ... Erbanteile etc. ...auch in Zusammensetzung: Korngefälle, Landesgefälle, Kirchengefälle. und: ursprünglicher Begriff: "das, was bei der Verteilung einem zufällt".
