In einem österreichischen Berufsschulzeugnis
Das ist der Titel unter einer der zwei Unterschriften auf einem Berufsschulzeugnis. Der Titel der anderen Person lautet BD Ing. BD steht laut meinen Recherchen für Berufsschuldirektor*in. Die Abkürzung Vtl habe ich auch auf einigen österreichischen Seiten gefunden, allerdings ohne Erklärung was diese Abkürzung bedeutet. Ich vermute, dass sie für Vertragslehrer steht, bin mir aber nicht sicher.

I bet you are doing a test piece for Park. I did the same today. Yes, very hard to find - I couldn't find the exact reference I found during my own research.

... and then look under:

VL is close enough to Vtl. I did find it somewhere but can't reproduce it for the life of me. Spent quite some time researching this term.
BD Ing. - what I found is Bachelor of Design and Engineering; the B always stands for Bachelor. Sorry that I can't give you a reference. Lots of searching and digging ... maybe it helps you find a reference that gives you confidence - don't take my word.

| That's exactly what I'm doing. I pretty much came to the same conclusion and agree with everything you wrote. It seems that the abbreviations VL and VtL are used interchangeably on various Austrian sites. In the link below on page 12 it lists VtL mit PH and then under the list of abbreviations it refers to VL for Vertragslehrer/Vertragslehrerin. Very confusing! | I agree with the contract teacher part but not the engineering one. The Ing. is used as a title as is often the case in German documents. I therefore went with Contract Teacher and Engineer as suggested by Uyuni. Like Phil I also don't think that BD stands for bachelor of design especially in a vocational school that teaches toolmaking. |
