Portuguese term

Desguarnecedora Total de Lastro

Portuguese to English Tech/Engineering Engineering: Industrial Railway line construction
This refers to a piece of railway maintenance/construction equipment, I am thinking maybe Railway Ballast Hopper but I have a doubt regarding the word Desguarnecedora - this would maybe indicate to me, its a sort of reverse Hopper, i.e. machinery that picks up the ballast from old previously laid trackways, or am I way out on my understanding here? Afraid I have no other helpful text.

Descarrilamento do equipamento Desguarnecedora Total de Lastro N/S 38013 durante procedimento de manobra sob a Linha nº 13.

Thanks for the input guys! I think we all more or less on the same line on this one!
Andrew Hunt (asker) Nov 14, 2022:
Thanks Nick, yeah I got all that and was aware of what it did, (just trying to figure out a technical description for the set) whereas the literal translation from the port version would lead one to believe they talking about purely a Ballast Stripper, but it does both jobs of stripping and laying new ballast etc. Thats why I liked your term INTERGRAL!
Nick Taylor Nov 14, 2022:
@Andrew Basically, nowadays, ballast layers do the whole job without closing the line "renovação de lastro em plena via", (other than when it is operating) as the machine moves forward it removes the ballst, sorts it, cleans it, then deposits it as it goes along. (with, obviously new ballast - with the correct "coeficiente de atrito" when required)

Thanks guys!
Clauwolf Nov 14, 2022:
Phil/Andrew Total ballast remover is ok
Andrew Hunt (asker) Nov 14, 2022:
Stripper or Remover, that seems to be what it does, but as I said I wonder if there is a more specific technical term for this equipment.
philgoddard Nov 14, 2022:
Ballast remover? You don't need to translate equipamento or total.
Andrew Hunt (asker) Nov 14, 2022:
Total Ballast stripper Equipment?

Thks Nick, I like your idea of INTEGRAL!

neutral philgoddard : (a) It's not cleaning the ballast, it's clearing it, and (b) We don't know that it also lays ballast, and that's not what the Portuguese says.

basically, nowadays with "renovação de lastro em plena via" the operation is done all in one go. https://www.plasser.com.br/pt/maquinas-sistemas/desguarnecim...
neutral Andrew Bramhall : It's true that ballast is often jet-washed, but otherwise agree with Phil;
