Ultrasound of the liver
Hi everyone,
Here is the sentence: "Celle-ci a révélé une hépatomégalie en faveur d'une surcharge stéatosique"
I only get 6 hits with "steatotic overload" and the article is by the same author.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Joanna

excess steatosis
I think this could be from a badly translated back-translation or something like that.
I think rephrasing is required.
I think rephrasing is required.
Example sentence:
"Previous studies have shown EXCESS STEATOSIS induced by pharmacological inhibition of 5αRs was also not reversed by castration, which suggests androgens alone are also not the sole cause ."
"Searching How the Extract Rebaudioside Occludes Excess Steatosis"

fatty liver disease
I think I'm basically on the same page as Liz, but I'd say that the enlarged liver is compatible with FLD. (or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease to differentiate from cirrhosis)
I found basically that exact sentence:
https://patient.info/healthy-living/alcohol-and-liver-diseas...
LFTs are tests that are done for various reasons. Therefore, NAFLD is often first suspected when an abnormal result occurs when the tests are done for an unrelated reason.
A scan of the liver can be helpful. For example, an ultrasound scan, CT scan or MRI scan. The scan can show an enlarged liver compatible with the diagnosis of NAFLD. However, a scan cannot definitely diagnose NAFLD.

* to differentiate from alcoholic -- both can progress to cirrhosis
