When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Thomas T. Frost Jul 16, 2022:
Agree I agree with Chris. It isn't about budgeting as such but typical Danish low-key marketing chatter in Lars Larsen style. Understanding the culture and having been immersed in the language is necessary to get the real meaning of such sentences; people who just understand the isolated words will end up misunderstanding it.
Christopher Schröder Jul 10, 2022:
I’d probably not translate this as such; you just need to convey the sense that this will save money.

help keep within budget; keep on budgetary track

no inverted commas for prospective ProZ glossary entry.

Det er *da* til at budgettere med! *So* that will help keep you within budget; > in a railway context of the other ProZ queries posted> That will keep you on budgetary track.

*da* as a 'throw-away', maddening-to-translate adverb in Danish, Norwegian and German : da gehen Sie falsch > yoiu're wrong on that one.
Example sentence:

Keeping a budget is not always easy. Here are 11 ways to help you stick to your budget and jump start your savings.

agree Michael Davies : Yes, you've got that right!

Thanks, Michael.
neutral Thomas T. Frost : You don't capture the light, marketing-like, spoken-Danish tone of the source, which that 'da' underscores, and which is more about highlighting the low cost than the actual budget in a financial sense

Danish term (edited): det er da til at budgettere med

this shouldn't wreck your budget

It means the low maintenance costs will not cause problems for the buyer's budget. You can express this in many ways, for example budget-friendly, doesn't wreck your finances, go easy on your budget. This belongs to the marketing category, by the way.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Michael Davies : While your suggestion is not completely wrong, I find it a bit far off the "bull's eye". l

In which way? Adrian's suggestions don't capture the light marketing tone of the source
