This is a the last sentence in a video presentation on Menière's disease and studies that were done on this topic. I do not know how to interpret the last part of the sentence, "not meant to imply an assignment by the author and/or publisher".

Any ideas?

Dea colleagues, I went with Anne's suggestion but added a note alerting the client to the fact that it could indeed be about copyrights as Tanja noted.

Maybe you could ask the client again, since the answer they gave is not a satisfactory explanation. You could ask if it has got anything to do with copyright transfer. Otherwise I would just stick to the client's explanation as close as possible, as Anne proposed.

Hi Anne, Yes, it's a dilemma since I am not sure whether it's just that or actually the legal term "assignment" that Tanja and Johanna mentioned.

What if you translate just that: "sind nur informativ und dürfen nicht als Beleg in anderen Zusammenhängen verwendet werden"? As per Google, the English phrase is exclusively used in a set of YouTube videos and it is very unlikely that they have an established or "standard" meaning or translation, respectively.

"und es soll nicht der Eindruck vermittelt werden, dass der Autor und/oder Herausgeber das Urheberrecht an diesen Werken besitzen." - ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass es etwas mit dem Urheberrecht zu tun hat, sicher bin ich aber nicht.
