Oración: "Pasaron varios días y nada. Lo imaginaba más enfermo que nunca. "

Contexto: esta oración se encuentra en un cuento que habla sobre un enfermo terminal que está hospitalizado.

My take. Or something along those lines. IMHO, in this case further context is irrelevant, as the expression stands by itself.
