Their protagonism

Literally. The words protagonism/protagonist exist, but it's an educated register (lengua culta) so some people might be unaware of it.

I wouldn't bother looking for synonyms myself, although "advocacy" might work, but I'm not keen on it myself. I'd just use the literal translation.

Another option could be "empowerment", but I'm a bit fed up hearing it nowadays.

"Conference on #WomensEmpowerment highlighted a great ambition for the advancement of women's protagonism within the #G20 countries and beyond."
Example sentence:

Mayan Women's Protagonism in the Aftermath of Genocidal Harm...

Women's Protagonism in Legislative Commissions in Brazil

Frontline in Latin America

I wonder if literal would be that clear. Women are taking the floor / in the limelight etc. It looks like a title so must be snappy. How's this?
Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : "On the frontline" would work.

Used here as an adjective (as in 'frontline workers') might be snappier

leading role

I am not in disagreement with Neilmac as to the translation. But it is indeed a high register term. La RAE define protagonista como: 2. m. y f. Persona o cosa que en un suceso cualquiera desempeña la parte principal https://dle.rae.es/protagonista?m=form
Therefore, I would propose "their leading role in Latin America"

Into center / centre stage

> avoids the condundrum of pluralis/zing Mujer - that is, linguistically, not a forgone conclusion.

Into rather than 'moving into' - which suggests an ongoing process and work-in-progress.

Leading role is in the KudoZ glossaries up to 6 times.
