Arabic to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature Memoir/novel
This term appears to mean 'to spit', but I'm not sure it makes sense in this context?

Discussion

Assem AlKhallouf Sep 3, 2021:
@Saeed Yes, I thought it might be a sarcastic tone That is why I avoided mentioning "Ruqyah" or "prayers" and only suggested "reciting", to be on the safe side.
Saeed Najmi Sep 3, 2021:
@Assem,
Hi Assem, thanks for the comments and the link. As there is no mention in the ST of any verbal rituals, I didn't venture into that area. It remains true however, that practice of such powers usually unvolves recitation of some kind of verses, koranic or other.

You may add a note to explain that it used to be and still is sometimes a practice in certain traditions and cultures.

neutral Assem AlKhallouf : Thanks, Saeed. I've just commented below that I am not sure whether she recites holy words or just practices it as a kind of deception and witchcraft. This link might be interesting for you with more contexts: http://sunnah.com/search?q=نفث

Reference:

To spread some droplets of your saliva on somebody after such saliva has been exposed to Ruqyah by your recitation of the Quran or verbal prayers to be accepted by God so He heals that person.
