French term
joints de bordés creusés
French to English
Tech/Engineering
Metallurgy / Casting
Hello everyone!
This term is used in an inspection report listing weld defects in shipbuilding:
Absence de joints de bordés creusés
I suppose joints de bordés is "edge joints" but I don't quite understand "creusés".
Does anyone have an explanation or know the correct term in English?

pitted (cavitated) edge joints
"Low spots" - cf. pp. 2 vs. 8 at LaminateInstallationInstructions%20(2).pdf
I seem to recall "cavitated" as a synonym but, if correct, it may be hypertechnical.
