English term
base draw
In a Sales Compensation Program, comes this term:
The Committee may delegate certain administrative aspects of the Program (including to one or more members of the Committee) but retains final
authority and full discretion to determine when, to whom, in what manner or form, in what amount and under what terms, conditions, and limitations base salary draws, commission award payments, and/or sales promotions (collectively, “Cumulative Commission Earnings”) under the Program are made and to interpret the Program’s provisions, allocations, splits, transfers, and/or calculations.
Again, later in the text:
Participant’s base draw payments, commission awards, and sales promotions are subject to the following terms and conditions : Sales commission is calculated each period. Sales commission is only payable in a given period to the extent cumulative commissions earned year-to-date exceeds the cumulative base draw plus any applicable commission guarantee earned less commissions paid year-to-date.
Is this avance ? Paiement de base ? Salaire fixe ?
Thanks for your help on this.

Jun 2, 2021 13:05: Daryo changed "Level" from "Non-PRO" to "PRO"
PRO (3): AllegroTrans, Cyril Tollari, Daryo
When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Germaine
: To draw a salary = toucher/tirer un salaire. + Cf. 2e par.: il n'y a "commissions" que si les ventes couvrent d'abord ce salaire de base, alors il ne peut pas s'agir d'une "avance".

Daryo
: it does function as a kind of "advance" as it has to be later justified by corresponding sales, but it's still a kind of "base salary".
