Spanish term

resolución afecta

Spanish to English Law/Patents Finance (general) venture capital investment funds
Hola!

Esto es el título de un contrato de financiamiento para start-ups tecnológicas en etapa temprana. Es la única vez que aparece en el texto y no tengo mucho más contexto. Cualquier ayuda me sirve. Muchas gracias!

Yes, it's the title of a resolution that annuls another resolution that regulates venture capital investment funds:

"Resolución Afecta

Ejecuta acuerdo n°... del Comité de Capital de Riesgo que deja sin efecto Acuerdo N°... del Comité de Capital de Riesgo; introduce modificaciones y establece texto refundido de las normas del Programa de financiamiento".

I guess a "resolución afecta" is a type of resolution, like an exempt resolution but not the same? Cannot find any examples in English.

If it's the title of a finance contract, I'd expect it to say "contrato de financiamiento". Is it some kind of resolution that forms a part of the contract? What does it say?

Spanish term (edited): resolución afecta > al trámite de toma de razón.
Selected

Chile: recordable resolution

vs. exenta: non-recordable.

A similar question came up on ProZ just a few years ago - eight to be precise - and I had also checked out that answer with a German woman translator who had moved many years ago to Santiago de Chile.

Howbeit, the context of a venture capital investment fund contract doesn't make clear whether the resolution is one of a company, local authority or the government.

tomar razón: record; make a notation, West
Example sentence:

Afecto = se encuentra afecto al trámite de toma de razón. Exento = NO se encuentra afecto al trámite de toma de razón.

Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : I'm not sure this is ideal, because the meaning of "recordable" isn't obvious, but it's on the right lines. Could it mean "subject to public registration/notarisation"?

Thanks, Phil. I'll include registrable in the glossary entry, as company resolutions usually are in Hispanic countries, as are City of London company meeting vote counts.

Covered Resolution

Can also be Subject Resolution. However, this is possibly a term used in legalese of a specific country. Considering this, one must verify the country and if this is common usage.
