could you please confirm me how the following sentence should be translated? In a movie, two guys who dive are talking, and one of them says he saw a rare fish, showing a photograph to the other one. The second one asks if the photo was shot by him, and the first one replies:
うねりのせいでライトに当たってくれなくて
(Due to waves swelling, the light wasn't hitting it, so...)
It's the fish that wasn't hit by the light/explosed to the light?

This would be the exact translation. Probably the fish moved just at the instant the photo was taken due to the swelling of the waves and thus the fish did not come under the light.

It did not hit the light
In other words, the light did not hit the fish. And according to the sentence before the missing translation, this version is more relevant. :)
