I take your point, Edier. I was using the term in the sense of a 'unilateral agreement to and with the severance' as in a 'preliminary agreement to sell goods by auction' to no one in particular: promesa de compraventa en subasta, so a *confirmation of severance*.
Severance pledge IMO is borderline employer- vs. employee-rotated https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-1997-07-10-970710...
Otherwise, all of your alternatives, such as 'letter of severance', are usable.

Thanks, Robert. The employee's initiative in confirming severance, apart from the USA and Germany, seems incongruous to the UK where employees are apt to keep their dismissal claims and complaints open.
