Poetry & Literature
I'm working on a text where this poem appears by Dr. Hussein Al-Dabbagh.
I'm struggling with two lines of it, but have just put one term here in the search bar (as that's the maximum). I'll set up a second question for my second query about it.
Here's the whole poem:
تملأ قلبي وحشة يا رهبة المكان
أخالني كمن خلفني الزمان٬
خبت به أنوار٬
وزهره موات٬
وحدي أنا به٬
تحفني الأشباح
The lines I don't get are the second and third lines. In this query I'm raising the second line. So is is something like:
It (the fear of the place, from the previous line) makes me feel uncertain/doubtful like someone who leaves time to me ??

I see myself
This verb suffixed with the first person object pronoun "ي" means: to think/ to look like.
So my suggested translation to the sentence would be: I see myself as someone whom time has left behind.
