Italian term

complessivi di finizione

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks
Hello everyone,

I need help with the translation of the following sentence:

Tutte le informazioni sono basate su documenti cartacei inconfutabili, cataloghi ricambi, manuali d’officina e ***complessivi di finizione*** della Fiat stessa, frutto di una minuziosa e lunga ricerca, fatta per pura passione della 500.

The context is the introduction of a Fiat 500 vintage car restoration manual.

What about Finishing diagrams/drawings?

Thanks!

Thank you Filippo

A blueprint is a drawn document that details the construction of or assembly of a item, project or device. It calls out specifics of what is shown in the drawing and gives their location and dimension or provides notations as to their composition or assembly.
https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-difference-between-a-bluep...
A blueprint is a reproduction of a technical drawing or engineering drawing using a contact print process on light-sensitive sheets. Introduced by Sir John Herschel in 1842, the process allowed rapid and accurate production of an unlimited number of copies. It was widely used for over a century for the reproduction of specification drawings used in construction and industry. [...] The process was not able to reproduce color or shades of grey.
The process is now obsolete. [...] The term blueprint continues to be used less formally to refer to any floor plan (and even less formally, any type of plan).

Finishing blueprints? But I haven't found correspondence on Google...
Claudia Sorcini Jan 29, 2021:
This is the forum where I read that you can find there colors: https://millecentofiat.forumattivo.com/t2474-fondi-e-pianale

Disegni tecnici con finiture Following Claudia's suggestion to search on Google Images, here is an image explaining what they are: https://picclick.it/FIAT-TOPOLINO-500C-DISEGNO-TECNICO-CON-F...

The caption reads: "DISEGNO TECNICO CON FINITURE e NUMERI COLORI"

One hit for this phrase refers to a scale of 1:20, implying that they're drawings.

I don't have much more material than this at the moment, sorry. I cannot tell whether it's a typo/mistake, but it looks like it's not the only occurrence on Google... It could refer to the manuals you linked to (though it would kind of repeat the previous item in the list), let's see if others can confirm it. Thanks!
Emmanuella Jan 29, 2021:

blueprint drawings

In my researches, I found a correspondence between the two terms on Google Images.

I can confirm that you can find there the number indicating the tonality of color (maybe as a note), I have read this information in a forum.
Note from asker:
I am not 100% sure they are the same thing (perhaps blueprint is more generic, as it applies to any technical drawing, while "finizione" could be related to car finishings), but the suggestion to search on Google Images helped a lot. At least we can get an idea of what they are here: https://picclick.it/FIAT-TOPOLINO-500C-DISEGNO-TECNICO-CON-FINITURE-e-224248321025.html The caption reads: "DISEGNO TECNICO CON FINITURE e NUMERI COLORI"

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks for your contribution Claudia, it helped me a lot. Considering your last comment, I would now stick to FINISHING BLUEPRINTS as it seems like these specific blueprints refer only to some technical features (finishing materials and colours), as opposed to the whole construction process or a general set of specifications."

final (overall) assessment

complessivo means overall assessment
Note from asker:
I think you got it wrong. Complessivo here is not an adjective (otherwise it would be quite easy to translate) but a noun, probably referring to a manual or a set of drawings (as the other elements in the list), not an assessment/evaluation. Also, I believe Finizione refers to "finishing" (noun) rather than final (adj.)
