NB It also means dribbling but as they are talking about the team as a whole, it's likely that this refers to the communication between the team members, so 'passing' the ball.

thanks writeaway. Although as it's referring to the team as a whole, I think passing works better. Dribbling is individual; so unless the comment is referring to each individual player, I think passing fits better.

Can also be juggling, as in when people juggle or soccer balls with their feet keeping the ball from hitting the ground. But in this context dribbling makes the most sense.
