Italian term

tp coronaroattiva

Italian to English Medical Medical: Cardiology
Can anyone please help with the meaning of TP coronaroattiva in this context:

Any suggestions highly appreciated!
Thanks!

Thanks, guys! Makes sense about the drugs. The patient has a restenosis, so I guess he was on Cardio aspirin and antiplatelet therapy medication.

My impression The scan was performed while the patient was on ... some sort of medication for the coronary arteries ... but I can't think of the precise term. The person has chest pain and ischemia, therefore blocked or occluded arteries, and this terapia coronaroattiva has something to do with helping the blood flow in the coronary arteries (I'm guessing).
Joseph Tein Nov 12, 2020:
To Marco Yes, that's there, but it's not helpful.
Joseph Tein Nov 12, 2020:
Tp Tp is 'terapia' (this seems highly probable in this context). We've had another KudoZ question with the term "coronaroattiva" but unfortunately our colleague chose to not share her solution with us.

anti-anginal drug treatment

The term seems to refer to a specific set of drugs used to treat angina, which would fit with your patient's chest pain. "tp" is "terapia", in this case drug treatment.

Calcio-antagonisti almeno 2 giorni prima dell'esame.

"Chronic stable angina is the most prevalent symptom of ischaemic heart disease and its management is a priority. Current guidelines recommend pharmacological therapy with drugs classified as being first line (beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, short acting nitrates) or second line (long-acting nitrates, ivabradine, nicorandil, ranolazine, and trimetazidine)."

standard therapy for coronary artery disease (CAD)

What they mean is the standard therapy for CAD, which includes calcium antagonists, beta blockers and nitrates.

It is important to specify whether the patient who is undergoing myocardial scintigraphy is on this therapy or not as it may affect the test results.
