I have the nagging feeling that you have forgotten to mention a "little detail" - that this "Market Sales Leader" is the "sales leader" for a specific market / for developing sales in ONE of all the markets where this company operates. As in: there would be a "Market Sales Leader" for the European market, while another "Market Sales Leader" would be the "Market Sales Leader" for the Asian market, etc.
This seems to be confirmed by advertisements for "Market Sales Leader" jobs - they are always for one specific market, NOT for ALL sales / all the company's business.
You have the same "missing element" in your other question about "Market Business Leader".
Another clue: "you need to get approbation from your Market Sales Leader in order to..." sounds like this "Market Sales Leader" is ONLY the head of a team. (=the head of your team) NOT the one and only "boss of the whole sales or business development department". - in which case there would a reference to the (the one and only) "leader" (/ department chief).
