Synonym of "teaching unit", although some trends in the literature tend to emphasise "learning" over "teaching". Native English speaking educators will tend to use it less frequently. Many of the published papers using the term are by non-natives, for example the second link below, a paper published in the UK, by Colombian authors.

NB: As the source text is about Spanish educational system, I would expect to see "didactic unit" used more often than in a similar text in English-speaking countries.
A Google search for "didactic unit gets 62,700 results, most of them from Spanish-speaking sources.
