Hola:

El texto a continuación forma parte de un manual de procedimientos financieros de una ONG local:

Estoy consciente que existe el término "investment earnings" pero creo que no aplica en este contexto.

Alguna sugerencia al respecto.
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): philgoddard

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Lester Tattersall Sep 10, 2020:
It's not 'investment'. They often say 'inversión' when they really mean expense, expenditure etc.
John Rynne Sep 8, 2020:
Income = Revenue? Not so fast In fact, the word "income" is ambiguous. It can mean "top line" or "bottom line".
philgoddard Sep 8, 2020:
Income and revenue are the same thing.
Manuel Aburto (asker) Sep 7, 2020:
Income vs. Revenues Hi,

Firstly, I must say thank you to all of you for all your answers.

Secondly, one of my doubts here is: if the text refers to a non-profit organization should I translate "ingresos" as "income" or "revenue"?

In advance, thank you for all your comments and answers!
Taña Dalglish Sep 7, 2020:
@ Adrian MM All due respect, while the header reads "inversion de ingresos", No. 3 reads "inversión DEL ingreso" (you have the same thing twice "de"), the only "slight" difference being "del".
Manuel Aburto (asker) Sep 7, 2020:
Cabe destacar que el texto como lo menciono más arriba corresponde a una organización no gubernamental.

Explanation:

La **inversión del ingreso** debe ser para los fines presupuestados o para el desarrollo institucional de la organización.

The **income investment (i.e. investment of income)** must be for the budgeted purposes or for the institutional development of the organization.

here ingresos is income, as an entry of money, so the whole translation would be inconme investment

Spanish term (edited): inversión de 1. ingresos 2. del ingreso

1. plough-back of earnings 2. investing of the deposit

Two separate questions: the header reads de ingresos, but the text at no. 3 says de ingreso (deposit: West). The third permutation of ingresos de inversión - as in the web ref. meaning investment income - is the product of meaning 1.

Plough-back (AE: plow back) of earnings is similar to the roll-over of capital gains into a new project or investment.
Example sentence:

Correct all you're your grammar errors insPlough-Back / Plow Back To reinvest earnings in a business rather than pay out them out as dividends. Common practice in high-growth companies.

income investment

Investment of incomes within an organisation is with a standard ruling.
Example sentence:

'La inversión del ingreso debe ser para los fines presupuestados o para el desarrollo institucional de la organización.'

'The investment of incomes must be for budgeting purposes or for the organization's institutional development.'

Peer comment(s):

neutral Taña Dalglish : Lisa, you've been told about duplicating answers before; Why do you enter something when there are answers identical to yours? That is not the correct protocol, and the least you could do is agree with another poster whose answer you R in agreement with!
