When the extrudate exits the gear pump, it flows toward the die assembly [1]. A sieve [16] filters the extrudate before it enters the die assembly. This sieve is supported by support sieves [14-15-17]. A perforated screen [13] prevents the sieves from being pushed away by the extrudate. The perforated screen also ensures a homogeneous flow of extrudate towards the die assembly.
