My question is, can Einnahme (einer Tablette) be translated as intake (of a tablet) or is it totally wrong?

Anne Schulz Jun 3, 2020: Re your question, "3 intakes per day" does not sound right to me. If I were a proofreader, I would probably amend that to "3 doses per day" (see Veronika's suggestion).
