Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma
Anisocoria is an unequal pupil size and makes no sense in this context. I think the author wrote the wrong term here but I can think what it could be. Thoughts?
TIA,
Juliette

anisocoria
In the context of an intracranial tumor we can have the tumor itself produce anisocoria due to its mass effect which most likely affects the oculomotor nerve. An edema can also produce a mass effect. So if you have a tumor producing a dilated pupil in one side (and therefore anisocoria) and then you had an edema also producing mass effect in the same way but on the other side, then the difference in pupil sizes would be cancelled out. Then you would have two dilated pupils and therefore "loss of anisocoria."
I hope this helps.

Compressive lesions from head trauma, intracranial aneurysms, uncal herniation, and tumors typically involve the pupil as they affect the superficial parasympathetic fibers that innervate the pupil.
