I stand corrected, but cannot see - from a search of the term in the plural in the Civil Code of the Dominican Republic - a warranty, collateral warranty > a.k.a. stipulation in favo(u)r of a third party or Scots law-type land warrandice > covenant in a deed. (see also: Art. 1977.-Aquel en cuyo provecho se ha constituido la renta vitalicia, mediante un precio, puede pedir la restitución del contrato si no le da el que la *constituyó las garantías estipuladas* (put up the collateral) para su ejecución.
